Mining pool with autoswitch
Hash-Hut autoswitch keeps your ASIC on the most profitable coin by itself. The pool watches blocks, difficulty and exchange order books across all its networks and switches your hardware exactly when profitability changes — not once every few minutes like timer-based switching.
Autoswitch is also called auto switch, auto-switching or profit switching — it is the same thing: you point the ASIC to one address, and the pool decides which coin to mine.
- On block
- switching the moment a new block arrives, not on a timer
- One address
- per algorithm — no ports or pools to change on the ASIC
- 3 modes
- of order book price depth — for any selling volume
- 15
- primary coins in autoswitch, merged coins as a bonus
What is autoswitch in mining
The profitability of coins on one algorithm changes all the time: difficulty is recalculated after every block, rewards change and exchange prices move. Right now one coin pays best for a SHA-256 ASIC, an hour later it is another one. You cannot follow this by hand, and repointing the ASIC to another pool or port every time is inconvenient and costly: you lose time and some shares.
Autoswitch solves this on the pool side. You connect your hardware once, and the pool calculates the profitability of every coin and gives the ASIC work for the best one. Merged coins are mined as a bonus on top of the primary one, so your income comes from several networks at once.
How Hash-Hut autoswitch works
- The pool runs its own blockchain nodes and is notified of every new block in all networks — its own and those of partner pools.
- After a block the coin profitability is recalculated: the block reward and current network difficulty show how many coins the hashrate earns per day.
- The number of coins is multiplied by the price. The price is not the last trade but comes from the exchange order book at the depth you choose — this shows what the coin is really worth when you sell it.
- If another coin has become the most profitable, the ASIC gets work for it right away — at the same moment it would receive a new job anyway because of the new block.
- That is why switching costs no hashrate: no extra reconnects, no waiting for a timer and no shares going stale because of the coin change.
Block-based autoswitch vs timer-based switching
Many multipools and auto-switching tools check profitability once every few minutes. Until the timer fires, the ASIC keeps mining a coin that is no longer the most profitable.
| Timer-based | Hash-Hut | |
|---|---|---|
| When it switches | Every N minutes, whatever happens in the networks | When a new block arrives and profitability has really changed |
| Losses on switch | The ASIC reconnects or drops its work — seconds of mining and some shares are lost | New work replaces the next regular job, hashrate does not drop |
| Coin price | Often the last trade price, even if your volume cannot be sold at it | Price from the buy order book at the chosen depth |
| Coins to choose from | Only the coins of that pool | Pool coins and partner pool coins, plus merged coins as a bonus |
| ASIC setup | Often a separate port or address for the switching mode | One stratum address, the mode is chosen in the dashboard |
Price depth: real, deep and deepest mode
The price of a small coin may look high until you try to sell even a few thousand dollars worth: the order book is thin and the price drops fast. That is why Hash-Hut autoswitch takes the price from buy orders, and you choose the depth.
Real
Price of the first buy order (best bid). Fits if you sell a little at a time or hold your coins.
Deep
Price of the order that fills a small one-time sale. A good middle ground for most miners.
Deepest
Price of the order that fills a large one-time sale. For big farms: coins with a thin order book will not look more profitable than they are.
Which coins autoswitch chooses from
Autoswitch picks the primary coin within your ASIC algorithm: SHA-256 switches between SHA-256 coins, Scrypt between Scrypt coins. Any of them can be excluded for your worker.

How to enable autoswitch
- Sign up on Hash-Hut — it takes a minute.
- Set the pool address for your ASIC algorithm and the worker as “login.name”. The password can stay empty. Click on the item to copy it
If your equipment is located in Russia, you can mine to this address even under whitelist-based blocking. This address should be reachable via the MegaFon provider, but you can try it with others as well.
If you are logged into your account, then here will be shown your USER_STRATUM_ID
- In the dashboard open “Workers”, tick the workers you need and click “Configure” on the panel at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose the autoswitch mode — “Real”, “Deep” or “Deepest” — and exclude coins you do not want to mine if needed. Nothing has to be changed on the ASIC itself.
To have autoswitch on for every new worker, choose the default mode in “Settings”. In the “Off” mode the worker mines the one coin you pick.
Autoswitch questions
Autoswitch (auto switch, profit switching) is automatic switching of an ASIC to the most profitable coin of its algorithm. The pool calculates the profitability of all coins and gives the hardware work for the best one, so the miner does not have to watch prices and difficulty or reconfigure the ASIC.
